Sofa Pieces, 2013

The inspiration to the SOFA PIECES #1-3 is derived partly from renowned Danish painter Asker Jorn’s idea to modify and modernize old paintings, by inserting new, rough and expressive elements to vintage flea market discoveries, as well as the universal clichéd view of sofa pieces in general.

One of my works consists of a classic strand of pearls, an over painted DAISY brooch and gemstones, which may be considered the `sofa pieces´ in jewellery, put together with new and unconventional components, converting the cliché into a modern jewellery statement with contemporary references and content.
